It was the summer of 2015, our fourth stop where our tour guide brought us here at Buho Rock. A Php20 is collected as an entrance fee. We were simply enjoying the view on top and had our pictures together.

Must Do This!
Back in 2013, I went with him to watch these incredible animals up close. Here I am—getting the chance to swim near a whale shark for a 30-minute limit! Of course, there are some important rules and regulations you need to follow:
No hand-feeding or touching the whale sharks
No flash photography
Maintain at least a 2-meter distance from the whale sharks

This experience is definitely a must-try if you’re visiting Cebu, Philippines. If I were you, I’d go for it, check it off your bucket list and see these beautiful sea creatures up close!
How to Get There
For Locals:
From Cebu South Bus Terminal, look for a bus headed to Oslob. When you pay your fare, tell the conductor to drop you off at Barangay Tan-awan, Oslob, the site for Whale Shark Watching. The fare for an air-conditioned bus costs around ₱150 to ₱160.
For Non-Locals:
I recommend taking a metered taxi from wherever you are to Cebu South Bus Terminal. When you get in, just tell the driver you’re headed to Cebu South Bus Terminal.
Note: There are two types of taxis—White Cab and Yellow Cab. I suggest riding a White Cab for a cheaper fare.
Once at Cebu South Bus Terminal, find a bus going to Oslob and inform the conductor to drop you off at Barangay Tan-awan for Whale Shark Watching. The fare is about ₱150 to ₱160 for air-conditioned buses.
Tips:
The best time to swim with the whale sharks is at 6 AM. Arrive early to avoid long lines and sunburn.
Whale Shark watching is only allowed from 6 AM to 12 noon, as the butanding (whale sharks) are given time to rest in the afternoon.
DON’T WORRY! There’s a solution to all your questions and concerns. If it’s your first time swimming with the whale sharks, there’s an orientation before you get in the water to guide you through everything.
If you want pictures but don’t have your own GoPro or underwater camera, AGAIN, DON’T WORRY! There’s a camera you can rent for Php 500 to 700. I recommend bringing a USB drive to transfer all your photos or an extra SD card. If you don’t have one, no problem—there’s an empty disc available at the souvenir shop.

Yes, driving skills is not required as long as you reach the two pedals, the brake and the accelerator. For beginners or not, you are required to watch a video orientation for your safety.

A weekend of everything that flies!
I’ve dreamed about hot air ballooning for years because it has always been at the top of my bucket list. And I know, this is on most people's bucket list too. When I was thinking about this, I asked myself - "How romantic would it be to ride in hot air balloon with your favorite Valentine soon?".
